Shri Devarapalli Prakash Rao will be conferred the very Prestigious Padma Shri award 2019. Shri Rao will be awarded the Padma Shri for his social work activities and education for the under privileged.
Running a very ordinary tea stall Mr Rao does the extraordinary through his social activities and takes care of the education of 70 under privileged kids from the near by slum areas. He also provides them milk and biscuits for breakfast.
While telling his story, Mr Rao describes the harsh truth of poverty and going to sleep hungry. He started helping his father in running the tea stall when he was still 7 and since then he has been continuing the legacy. He then decided to take care of under privileged children through whatever means he could and funds their education through the earnings of the tea stall. Mr Rao has also donated blood more than 200+ times since 1975. A true hero.
Apart from Shri Rao, Shri Daitari Naik(Social Work) & Ms Kamala Pujahari(Others-Agriculture) will be conferred the prestigious Padma Shri award. A true proud moment for the state and Cuttack city.
