Raja Celebrations this year have been hampered due to the second wave of the Pandemic. Keeping the situation in mind, Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) has rolled out it’s “Pitha On Wheels” mobile van for the people of Bhubaneswar.

“With the Raja festival starting on Monday, the OTDC with support of Mission Shakti has launched the ‘Pitha on Wheels’ to sell varieties of ‘pithas’ on the special occasion in Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur amid COVID restrictions,” OTDC Chairperson Shreemayee Mishra said today.

She added that the CM has expressed his pleasure for such initiative to make Odia delicacies available at doorsteps during the lockdown.“Every year, the OTDC makes arrangements for city people with all varieties of pithas and swings on premises of Pantha Nivas during Raja festival. As the COVID restrictions are in force, we decided to come up with last year’s idea ‘Pitha on Wheels’ this year to make the occasion special. Apart from Bhubaneswar, the ‘Pitha on Wheels’ service will be available for the first time in Sambalpur. Also, the varieties of pithas will be available at OTDC kiosks in Cuttack and Rourkela,” Mishra said.
