Foodies of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack , the twin city’s favourite food community was back to what it is best at and that’s a FoodRaid. FoodRaid is Foodies of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack’s most popular event and is loved by foodies from all walks of life. Introducing FoodFindo, our new address

Patia and adjoining areas in Bhubaneswar have fast become a foodie’s favourite address and one is spoilt for choices ranging from Chinese to Indian to Multi-Cuisine and some amazing concept restaurants. One such new and exciting place recently opened its door to welcome foodies of the twin city. Konnect located near Infocity impressed immediately with its exciting & appealing façade.

The new place was certainly creating quite a buzz on the social media by posting some really awesome sneak peeks into the property and what was on offer. The event invite was well received by foodies and around 25 foodies attended the food raid.

Creative Interiors

The 1500 sqft space is quite a stunner once you enter. Modern interior décor, comfortable lounge sofas, quirky wall art and interesting lighting scheme were the first impressions. The bricked wall behind the live band stage is pretty dope and the Parisian and British décor on the wall and furniture is also quite quirky and bold. The loud music was kind of a turn off but then there is a section which likes loud music. So I might just give that a miss. Check out their official page on Facebook to be updated about the  live gigs and other events.

The vibrant group of foodies included people from different walks of life, each one of them making the gathering colourful thanks to their varied backgrounds. Discussions ranged from foodie experiences to adventurous stories, from biker discussions to just “aiwe hi” discussions.

Speaking of food, Konnect did not disappoint with their range of Chinese Starters, which included dishes like Chilly Prawns, Pan Fried Fish, Barbecue Prawns, Chicken Wings, Veg spring Rolls to name a few, which we really liked. We were particularly impressed by Barbecue Prawns and Chilly Prawns. The smoked flavour of Barbecue Prawns was enticing and exciting as well. Loved the way they presented the dish.

The Chicken Wings was worth trying. Tender and succulent chicken coated in a spicy batter with sesame seeds drizzled on top made it one of the most liked starters among the foodies. The accompanying drinks like Blue Lagoon and Fresh Lime Soda with a twist accentuated the flavours. Chilly Paneer is a dish which really can’t go wrong and they did not disappoint.

Pan Fried Fish was loved by all and the sweet and sour sauce which formed the base of the dish was a dash of flavours detonating at once and that was pretty amazing. It was good to an extent that we made repeat orders for the same. For the vegetarians Spring Rolls and Chilly Paneer are the two dishes that should be on your “must try list”.

French Fries & Cheese Rolls

The main course we ordered was a mix of Indian and Continental. Chicken, Mutton and Veg Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Saag Wala, Chicken Malai Tikka,Punjabi Paneer, Paneer Tikka and Kajuwala Chicken.

The Indian section failed to impress. The Biryani was nothing but ordinary, I am not a big fan of big chunks of meat used in Biryani and a lot of foodies also had the same issue.  The rice was a little over boiled which made it sticky not the way we like our Biryani. The Chicken Malai Tikka was not your soft & tender melt in the mouth types Tikka. The Chicken Saagwala and Punjabi Paneer however turned out to be the saviour.

Chicken Saagwala

This beautiful weather and Chicken Saagwala make an excellent combination. For me winters are synonymous with Chicken Saagwala. This dish was a stand out among the otherwise not so amazing Indian dishes. Grilled Chicken from the Continental section was however a stunner.

The service was a big letdown. Very slow and inexperienced staff added to the confusion. The segment in which Konnect is playing currently, needs faster service and trained people around. This is one grey area where they need to pull up their socks.

The parking is ample and locating it on the posh Infocity Road is pretty easy thanks to the amazing location. Konnect is overall an amazing place to hangout with friends and spend good time lazing on the lounge sofa enjoying some amazing food. `Give it a try and try the dishes that we suggested over here.
